A Racket of Banshees: Goddesses and Monsters Re-Imagined invites viewers into a world of myth, feminist archetypes, and speculative futures. Expanding on the 2023 online exhibition Goddesses and Monsters with LADIES’ ROOM, the 2026 exhibitions feature returning and new contemporary feminist artists (from Southern California and beyond) working across sculpture, painting, drawing, photography, video, performance, and community workshops. Blending the divine and the monstrous, the exhibition explores transformation, gender equity, and imagined futures. Monsters challenge the status quo, while goddesses illuminate unknown possibilities. Together, they create a space between myth and reality where viewers are invited to reflect on what must end, what can emerge anew, and how another world might be possible.

Join us for a celebration of the Wignall Museum iteration of A Racket of Banshees: Goddesses and Monsters Re-Imagined on Saturday, September 12, 12-2pm. Meet the artists and enjoy an afternoon of art, music, and food. Free and open to the public. A companion exhibition of A Racket of Banshees is on view at the Los Angeles Valley College Art Gallery, September 14 – October 17, 2026. This exhibition brings together two additional components of the project, a traveling “works on paper” exhibition that was shown at the  Art Museum SUNY Potsdam and The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Gallery as well as a performance art festival that was part of Art in Odd Places VOICE/WEHO in July of 2026. Objects from the performances along with a video installation of Scarlett Kim’s BEASTS will join the works on paper in the gallery.

**Association of Hysteric Curator members will perform at the opening reception, and theexhibition closes with a performance art festival.
