“Where We Stand” at The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) brought together 51 photographers from the San Diego-Tijuana region to explore physical, cultural, and political landscapes. The exhibition ran from March 27 to April 11, 2026, and was presented by Medium Photo. I claimed my birthright of being from San Diego and was accepted. Unfortunately I was too busy to get to the opening. Looking at the images posted, it seemed more of a who’s who mixer than an art propelled event. I gave it my best political art view in the middle of the ICE raids and detentions of anyone brown or anyone outraged was happening in California. (See below) My photo was of a couple speaking between the chainlink fence that separated San Diego from Tijuana in 2008. Since then, a solid wall prohibiting any visuals on either side has been erected.
